And i didn't even try...!

What i have learnt today

(before i start, there is no offence intended for overweight people or olives)

1. That overweight women have a harder time getting pregnant. This is because fat produces estrogen and estrogen is a natural type of contraception.

2. That investing in olives will generally not be overly 'fuitful'*. You should maybe try truffles.

3. To burn calories you should increase muscle. Muscle burns calories.

Hmmm. I think thats it.

* Yes, this pun was itended.

A quandry

Yesterday whilst walking through a bottle shop, i over heard part of a conversation between a young guy & girl. What the guy said has had me wondering all weekend:

'19 out of 20 people wouldn't do that'

DO WHAT????

I have had many thoughts running through my head, but, well, thats a BIG majority. What would 19 people object to?? What would 1, only 1, person do??

(also,is it kinky/freaky/dirty/disgusting or just plain wrong on every level?)

Thoughts please...?

Lip Balm/Burn

I just bought a lip balm. Actually, to be specific it's 'Finest Aromatic Lip Conditioning Treatment'. Sounds good right? Well, no. My lips are burning.

Oh the pain! It hurts soo bad!

Ok, maybe i'm exaggerating, but really- burning?

(At least it smells good...)

Heath Ledger RIP

The last couple of days all i have seen & heard about is the death of Heath. I very nearly cried last night becasue it is so sad. BUT when i thought about it, as tragic as this is, it happens all the time all over the world. I dont know how many people die everyday, but i just think there is something not right about the attention some people get over others. Is it because he managed to touch so many people through his work?

I hope i am explainging myself right.

I do realise that i am being somewhat of a hypocrite by writing a post about this (particulary Heath), but it's something i have been thinking about.

I found this photo after a search...

I love it and think it says alot about Heath's personality and the fact that even though he is in the limelight, he is not censored and tells it like it is.

A day for firsts!

Today i did something that i had never done before. Today i ........... complained about food, and not just to my friends, but the actual restaurant people!

Here's the story...

My friend & i go to a cafe/restaurant for lunch. I enquire about the vegie burger and am told that it's a vegie pattie on a roll with salad etc. Sounds good (and somewhat healthy) so I place my order.

Over half an hour later the food comes. Sitting in between my (burnt) roll was a tiny, deep fried, mass produced pattie on some (feral) lettuce. It was absolute crap! It was made of peas, corn & deb potatoe. I tried eat it, but could only digest about 2 bites.

Now i may or not be spolied, but vegie burgers where i come from are made on-site, out of more than 3 trypes of veges, & are NOT deep fried. Oh, and they also come with a side of taste!

I debated about complaining (I thought about it and wether or not i would serve it at home-no!), which made up my mind. She was ok about it, and gave back my money. I normally wouldn't have been that annoyed, BUT i did ask them about it and how it was served and never did they say 'deep fried crap'!

So what do you think? Was i in the right? Also, have you ever complained about food or sent it back??

Ikea madness

So, yesterday was memorable! As well as going to Chatswood, we also made a detour to a shop i had only ever heard about......Ikea!

Im sure everyone else has been there before, but for me, I was an Ikea virgin. I had no idea of the rules, and the necessity of the mini pencil & paper (I learnt quickly though)

We made it out alive with some curtains and a coffee table (i also got a freebie headache from all the people, car fumes & crying babies- how nice!)

Here i am, ready to shop

Small things

Yay! I am going to go to 2 of my favourites shops on Saturday Peter Alexander and Kikki K at Chatswood Chase.

Oh, how i love that shopping centre. Adore maybe? We'll see...!

Well, that's basically all i have to post about today, and it is kind of exciting because i am making a 2hr trek to get there. I often shop with them online, but sometimes you just need to see & touch things. Understand? Good.

Have a great friday!

And no, im not useing models, just coping some pics from a book with charcoal (i dont know who the artists are)

I would love the feedback as possum isnt very good at it....!

Time for introductions

This is Boston, my friends baby boy. He's such a cutie (and one that hardly ever makes a noise!)

I think i must have moved the camera, BUT maybe, just maybe, this photo shows his aura? Just a thought...!

p.s- I got sepia on, but have no idea how to turn it off. ahhhh, the joys of a new camera!

Blast from the past

Fine, i'll admit it. I am a massive Guns n Roses fan. This type of thing is bound to happen when you have 3 older brothers......!

Things that sh*t me

1. Pregnant women who smoke. Now, as a former smoker i do not pass judgement on those who chose to partake in this particular habit- it is their choice. However babies and smoking are a no-go area. It is soooo wrong. I seriously wanted to headbutt this woman, but she looked a bit badass so i looked sternly in her general direction and just kept walkin'.....!

2. School holidays. Everything takes 10 minutes longer. (Also i am jealous-that used to be me!!)

3.The increasing cost of magazines. Everyone complains about the petrol & milk prices, but what about the magazines??

Well i thinks thats it so far.

p.s- For those interested i did buy the robe mentioned in the previous post and am about to go for the eye pillow...

Match made in heaven

I am thinking about getting these to little gems off Ebay. First is a Peter Alexander robe that i nearly bought a while back for $69, but is on ebay for $30. Bargain. It would be a crime (a very petty crime i admit) not to buy it!

Second is, yes, an eye pillow. Though this one is different because it is lavander scented. I realise that i could put some lavander on one of my others, consequently not really needing this one anymore, BUT then im not shopping and where's the fun in that??

Oh, and they match! See? I am meant to have these!

Stick man is a vagabond

Firstly, i would like to announce that Stick man has moved on. Yes, i was upset but i am sure its for the best. Last night was hard, i missed his eerie prescence and his thin shadow, however i had to move on.

(Enter vodka)

To help cope with the loss, i enlisted vodka. Three types. Normal, Vanilla and Apple (all great BTW- especially appple vodka with apple juice)

I now have a hangover that has taken my mind of Stick man.

Goodbye Stick man, i will miss you (well...at least a little bit)

I call him......Stick man!

This insect has been hanging around my front door for the past couple of days. I'll admit that when i first saw it, i did actually think it was a stick.

I'm not quite sure what to do with it, so i am leaving it alone. I know its harmless, but it's still a wee bit....freaky. I have named it/him (?) Stick man.

Bravo for such a convincing camouflage stick man!

Argh!

Well, the countdown is on. Only 4 days until i am back at work. Life can be so cruel.....

To make myself feel better i went shopping and bought new thongs, a bag, a bra & a top (for work) and to makes things even better, they were all on sale. I ended up buying $130 worth of things for about $80.

Surely thats better than paying retail?
