Update

Playsuit listed below didn't really work it. It looked hideous. Turns out you have to be somewhat tall to pull that one off.

Oh well. I tried.

Tuesday, December 15, 2009

Do i?

There is something about this playsuit that i like.

I have never owned one before, but i am soooo tempted.
Thoughts?

Purse

I love this purse. I really shouldn't buy it, but, well, realistically i will!

Reflections and !!!

This may sound trite, but since moving from a big city to a smaller costal town, i have become much less worried about looks, clothes, shopping and all those costly things that a city can do to a person.

I guess a lot of this is due to lack of choice. I don't have big shopping centre where i am. Sure, i have all i need and more, but a lot less variety. Where shopping used to take a day ( and sometimes more), it now takes a couple of hours.

I used to get most of my fun from shopping in the city. It's just what you did either alone or with the girls. Now, i shop, but i go to the beach too. I play tennis. I actually read during the day. Brett and i play board games. I look at the ocean for no other reason but because i can and it's pretty.

So there you have it.

Don't get me wrong, i miss the city. I miss the shopping, but not the reasons why i did it. I wonder it that makes sense to anyone else but me?

And, in other news, the company that i work for in Brisbane ( Aka 'the city'), is flying Brett and I up for the Christmas party, and covering all costs for the weekend!!! Happy dance!!

Busckscoop!

Yesterday I stumbled across this lovely website Buckscoop

It has discount vouchers, coupons and promo codes. I am not a big coupon person ( they are usually much more hassle than they are worth), but since i do alot of online shopping, i love the promo codes.

Most of these are for Australia, but i think i did see some for the larger overseas stores. You should def. check it out!

Ebay

So, as you know, i am been TRYING to curb my shopping, but it's so hard! Ebay is what's really making things difficult. Yesterday, I was checking on one of my listings, and i stumbled across a NWT top in my size with an hour to go. So I placed a bid. And then someone outbide me. This is where I get caught- I am now in a competition. Even though I like the top and will wear it, it's the fact that someone is out bidding me that makes me want to win it.

After much bidding, I waited until there was 12 seconds left and placed my final bid....and I won! Hooray!

Here is the top I fouhgt so hard for, Copper St Jungle Ruffle top

It's summer!

I know most of you are heading into Winter, but here is Oz it's Summer! This is very exciting - especially it will be my first Summer living right across from the beach.
With this is mind, i have been looking at accessories...

I have never been a hat person, but i could be persuaded...!

A scarf. So cute.

Memory Lane

I have an interesting Uni assignment to do. I have to write a 2500 word memoir about reading and/or writing. It's funny, because i had never thought about why i read- but when you do, it's interesting. Often it stems back to childhood, and it's fun to go back and look at what you used to read. Me? I was obsessed with the Baby Sitters Club, and funnily enough, Mills and Boon.

So, i pose the question: Why do you read, and what were you obsessed with?

Flamingos

Ok, so i find myself in the midst of a 'flamingo' phase. It is great, but there really aren't a lot of flamingo themed accessories out there.
I did, however, come across this little silver beauty.

Dress!

OMG, i am in love with this dress. Badly.

My head hurts

Argh, today my head feels all funky. Wanna know why? Ok, i'll tell you, but it's kinda gross...
Yesterday morning at about 5:00 am i work up with a terrible migrain, so i took some heavy duty painkillers in the hope that they would fix it. Oh how i was wrong.

From about 10-2 pm i was vomitting ( not that there was anything there to vomit mind you), and then spent the rest of the day trying to fall asleep to escape the pain.

Migraines suck! And while i'm not a stranger to them, they are changing in their effects, and getting progressively worse. I am pretty sure they are hormonal, so i am not quite sure how to handle them.

Any ideas? While i was in Brisbane, i did see my doc, and we decided to change my pill to the lowest degree. In a way, this has worked because i don't get them as often, but when i do they seem much worse.

Shoes!

I am in love with these shoes, pale pink suede and the red bow is detachable. Bliss.
$90 from Frock You. I can't buy them yet, but my shopping ban finishes very soon!

Buy pink

It seems that more and more people i know are getting Breast Cancer. At first i just knew one person, but now the list is growing. Friends, family and coworkers are being diagnosed and at a fast rate.

Honestly, i feel quite helpless. I donate money, buy the pens etc, but still feel...overwhelmed by something that is quite obviously out of our control. While i haven't had anyone close to me pass on, it only seems a matter of time.

This may seem quite trivial, but whenever i need to buy anything, i always to check if there is a 'pink' version, and have recently stumbled across some that have really caught my attention for many reasons; charity, looks, usage and cost.

Collette Dinnigan Ballet Slippers $69

Dunlop Volley shoes

Blush Leather Purse $100 www.luxeaccessories.com

Baby Jumpsuit $16

Teacup and Saucer set $8.95

Beach Towel $50

There are so many more than what's on my list, but i think this is a good start. I am considering buying through websites such as the NBCF and RSPCA for Christmas presents. What do you think?

Most of these items are available through here

That'd be right

Now, if i was shopping, i would definetly be buying up big from a brand called Friends of Couture , but i'm not so i can't.

Excited

I am excited for today because:
1. I have new pens and highlighters to try out. As a proofreader these are my TOOLS.
2. Spring is here and it's supposed to be about 30 degrees today.
3. Following from previous point- i live ACROSS the road from the ocean!!
4. I am going to go browsing. Not shopping, but browsing.

Update

I am sure you all would be happy to know that i have NOT bought anything online in nearly a week ( although it has been relatively easy as i have run out of money :p)

However, i have been eyeing off this dress in Sportsgirl- it reminds me of a summer sunset, pinks, oranges and blues. So pretty. I went to try it on the other day and all they had was a size 6 or 14. WTF?

It's not on their website, but if i do end up getting it in-store, i will be sure to post a pic!

I think that's about it. I am still working from home and going to the gym and tennis, but am finding it hard to meet people my age. The gym isn't really a talkative place, and while there are some nice people at tennis, most of them are older. Thoughts? I was thinking of finding an art class, but think i might have the same problem.

Question: Where (apart from work), do you meet new people??

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Quits

Ok, no more online shopping until the 17th October. I mean it.
I seriously need to get this little habit under control!

So......does anyone have any tips?

Also, what on earth am i going ot blog about?

Argh.

Skin stuff

As much as i love shopping for clothes, i also love skincare and makeup. Normally i am a Clarins or Clinque girl, but have recently bought these two from Benefit cosmetics ( and yes, I am a sucker from pretty packaging!).

Has anyone else used the Dear John cleanser or the You Clean Up Nice face wash?

Jackets

Ok, so since finding the pink Swing jacet in the previous post, i can't stop looking at them! I also like this from Birds of a Feather, but think the pink from Fred Flare would be good as it has a more 'summery' feel to it...

Saturday, September 12, 2009

Fred Flare

I love the website Fredflare, but am hesitant to buy anything due to the costly postage, BUT i am totally in love with the jacket ( never mind the fact that we are heading into Summer!)

I also like their homewares and stationary- i just can't find any here in Oz that comes close to these...

What do you think? Yay or Nay?

It just keeps going...

Ok, so the dress saga continues. I am thinking the dress below is slightly more formal ( as it's long) so i have ordered this. I have now bought 3 dresses for 2 weddings. Argh.

Hens show

So i have a hens show coming up for one of my best friends, and the theme is...Little Black Dress. So of course, i have been looking around for a new one!

What do you think? I like it because it is slighly different because of the ruffle, and i think i could easily dress it up or down. Also it's $130 plus an extra 15% discount. Sounds good to me!

Suprising...

You know those brands that you used to like, then they came out with a heap of crappy designs so then you gave them the flick? Well, i just re-looked and was suprised! Cheap, but no too bad at all!

Maxi dress, $59 by Sunnygirl

Pants,$39 by Living Doll

Top, $35 by Living Doll.

Dress update

Ok, so i found the 'Wish' dress today on Ebay, with a buy it now price of $100 ( save $80) Yay! I'm a happy girl! ( this pic does not di it justice.)

I also found a another dress, (purple with ruffles), that i plan on getting. I will post a pic when i have it.

You may or may not know it, but i LOVE dresses!

Sunday, August 16, 2009

The search continues...

So, i am still trying to decide what to wear to a couple of weddings i have coming up. It is waaaay to stressful! I did find a couple of contenders on the weekend, one a Charlie Brown silk maxi dress thingy, and Wish strapless dress.

I can't decide between the two, although the fact that the Charlie Brown is $400 and the Wish is under $200 seems to be a factor, but i have never bought a long dress before. You see, i am fairly short, and each time i try them on i know i will need to take them up, so i never bother with them......BUT this one is gorgeous on, and i like the change ( and it shouldn't cost too much to get it taken up). Also, while the wedding is formal, the reception will be right on the beach so it seems fitting.

On the other hand, i also like the Wish dress. A little more sexy, but nice.

I also think i will get plenty of use out of each dress.

Thoughts? I seriously think i might just buy them both to save me the misery, but then that seems a little irresponsible.

Argh.

I just can't stop

If i had any clothes money left, I would but these outfits. I love the quirkiness and the fact that i don't see them in many stores...

Working from home

As a result of the pending move, my work has allowed me to trial working from home. This is great for 2 reasons;
1. I really like my current job as a proof reader, so now i don't have to look for another one.
2. Since i will be home most of the time i get to buy some more 'homey-like' as opposed to corporate attire. Yea!

I bought these on Friday, along with some more jeans...

And, well, technically i don't need the purse for work, BUT i love the texture of it.

Wednesday, July 08, 2009

Yep, another one...

Love this dress, but it has sold out :(

I love the colour and style, so i am entertaining the thought of getting it made. Thoughts?

It's from a website called Mod Cloth. Brilliant!

Busy busy

So, time for some news!

Brett and I are packing up once again, this time back to NSW- Port Macquarie to be exact. In less than a month we will be living by the ocean enjoying a sea change.

I have really liked living in Brisbane, but being 10 hours from friends and family it a bit hard, and Port Macq. is less then a 3 hour drive.

Brett has been offered a great job, and my work has said that i can work from home. All in all this has turned out really well and we have been VERY lucky with how things have fallen into place.

I think one of the main things I am going to miss ( apart from my new friends) is the SHOPPING! Yes. Caps. I love shopping! Port isn't too bad, but i won't have a Myer or DJ's.... :( I guess the move will be good for my bank balance!

p.s- Thank God for online shopping!

2. Sarah Blasko
3. Radio Head (old)
4. Clothing by Wish and Review
5. Coats!!! I have bought 4 this winter and i am in Brisbane, a place that doesn't get particulary cold!
6. Spaghetti (especially when Brett cooks it)

Deers and stuff

There is something that i LOVE about this cardi. Is it the deers? The colour? The warmth? Or maybe that fact that it is $29. Bargain.

In other news, i have my exam tomorrow and i am trying to be cool, calm and collected. Argh. Wish me luck!

It is just an awesome book.

Dresses

Now, everyone knows that I love to shop online (clothes, purses, makeup etc), but i have never bought handmade clothes online, specifically Esty. I was having a quick browse and came across this lovely dress.

A good friend of mine is getting married in November and i am strongly thinking about buying this. The wedding is going to be formal, and I think this dress is sophisticated, timeless, classy, and easy to accessorise.

My only issue is- do you think it might be to brides-maidy??

You can get this dress here

Sunday, May 03, 2009

So, what do you think?

It's been a while between posts! I'm not really sure why, probably a mixture of laziness, lack of inspiration and...um, laziniess. However, I am back and have a very important decision to make...

Should i buy this bag?

I like it for three reasons;
1. It's pretty
2. I don't have one like it
3. It's pretty
