Too busy!
So, a few posts back i talked about a dress from Barkins. I ended up ordering it on the 1st May, and as of today i still don't have it. It's coming from Syndey so it should have taken a week maxiumum to get to me.
On wednesday i sent an email asking about it. No reply.
Today, i called and got a young girl ( sounded like work experience). I asked her where it was. She said it was 'being sent tomorrow as they had lots of orders'. I asked why no-one replied to my email. She said ' they don't check their emails- they are too busy'
WTF???
If I didn't check my work emails and reply, i wouldn't have a job.
This dress had better be worth it!

Another one for the list...
After a month of exercise and tweaking my diet ( and by exercise i mean getting tortured by my personal trainer), my jeans fit better! ( because we all know that jeans are the best judge).
I am trying to not judge results by weight ( it has changed only slightly), but definetely feel...fit and less heavy and bloated.
Also, i find myself in love with the treadmill. I know, strange, but true. I love running on it and testing myself each time.
So, there you have it. I have another addiction.

28-35
For some reason, I keep putting off updating my age on the side bar from 27 to 28.
I know i'm not in denial, but all of a sudden i am VERY much aware of ageing and i want it to stop. Now.
I know this because:
1. I am back at the gym seeing a trainer trying to find that elusive figure from my early twenties.
2. I HATE ticking age boxes on forms. I am now in the 28-35 age bracket. The horror.
3. I am obsessed about wrinkles- especially eye wrinkes.
4. I find myself wandering into shops that i used to label as 'old people' shops, and the worst part is...I like them. They have practical pyjamas and heat packs.
5. I increasingly start sentences with 'When i was young' or 'When i used to go out..'
6. My knee is making funny noises when i bend, kinda like it's groaning.
So, there you have it. I'm oldish.

Descions
So, I have a friend's wedding coming up, and I have been trying to think of something to get them. Everyone wants money in a card, and while i understand that, i would like to put a little more thought into it.
My latest idea is monogramed stationery and a nice pen. The paper would say something like 'From the desk of Mr and Mrs Smith'. They live on the other side of Australia, so the idea would help us stay on touch.
What do you think? Yea or nay?

Lots of friends!
Funny story from Brisbane, also known as 'what not to ask a stranger'...
So, on Saturday i was meeting 3 other people for lunch, and since i was early i thought i would go ahead a get a table and have a drink while i waited.
The waiter comes to seat me and i ask for a table for 4. He then looks at me and asks 'Have you bought your imaginery friends with you?'
Now i think this is a STRANGE question to ask a customer. So i look at him funny. He then asks me 'What are their names?'
Again, this is odd. I reply with 'I'm not telling you their names' ( hopefully wierding him out too).
Anyway. I get a table, and then go to get a drink, and since it's quite hot i get a glass of wine AND a coke. There i am carrying back 2 drinks to an empty table and the waiter spots me and instantly focuses on the 2 drinks. God knows what he made of that!
But, was that a strange question to ask someone??????

Argh.
I seem to be incompetent at handing any type of assignment in before the due date.
For instance, i am doing a book review for a website. It is due tomorrow. I have done 80% over the last few weeks, but could not make myself finish it. Why? because it's not due yet. I had the time to do it, but not the stress that i need to actually FINISH it.
It's the same with Uni assignments. I start them, make some headway, and then leave it till the last couple of days to get my shit together. And now? Now i want to drink wine but i can't because i need to finish the review.
Sometimes i really annoy myself.

Fail
OK so you know how i dyed my hair dark?? I couldn't deal with it and have gone lighter again. I tried it for 2 weeks, but failed. It was odd, because I didn't feel like myself and therefore felt kinda sad and dejected. It's funny how small things can affect your mood.
Anyway. Moral of the story- blondes do have more fun!

Substantial substance
Does anyone else find it too hard to 'share' on their blog? As much as i want to be completely open and honest, i find it hard to write anything 'substantial'. I am not an overly open person anyway, so i guess it transfers here too. The funny thing is, i like reading about other people's...substance. I'll take it, but won't give it!
Generally i post about shopping. I wonder why i do this? Many would consider this to be highly impersonal, but when you think about it, shopping is quite personal for me. It displays my personality, likes and dislikes, and i put a lot of thought into gifts for other people. I plan months in advance to find the perfect present, and often hound suppliers to get stock if they run out. I like the thrill of the chase, and knowing that i can find a unique gift and make someone smile.
Another intersting point is that i do not tell my 'real' friends/family about my blog. I do not want them reading it, probably because i don't want to be judged ( not that i really think they would), but it's nice to have a seperate avenue.
Does this make sense?

Being a girl has its bad moments
I am so agitated right now. Everything is frustrating and annoying and i want to demolish everything for not being as it should. I also feel fat and yucky and it's soooo hot here right now.
Sound familiar ladies?

Reflections and !!!
This may sound trite, but since moving from a big city to a smaller costal town, i have become much less worried about looks, clothes, shopping and all those costly things that a city can do to a person.
I guess a lot of this is due to lack of choice. I don't have big shopping centre where i am. Sure, i have all i need and more, but a lot less variety. Where shopping used to take a day ( and sometimes more), it now takes a couple of hours.
I used to get most of my fun from shopping in the city. It's just what you did either alone or with the girls. Now, i shop, but i go to the beach too. I play tennis. I actually read during the day. Brett and i play board games. I look at the ocean for no other reason but because i can and it's pretty.
So there you have it.
Don't get me wrong, i miss the city. I miss the shopping, but not the reasons why i did it. I wonder it that makes sense to anyone else but me?
And, in other news, the company that i work for in Brisbane ( Aka 'the city'), is flying Brett and I up for the Christmas party, and covering all costs for the weekend!!! Happy dance!!

Verbs
wishing: that i had some friends in Port Macquarie ( all of my friends are either in my home town or have moved away)
disliking: that my office is so messy
missing: my friends and family ( Happy birthday Jack!)
wanting: witchery clothing- suddenly in love with everything they have
improving: my cooking skills
realising: that i need to move forward in so many things
loving: the perks that come from working at home
considering: what i am going to do next year- training and diversification
watching: Frasier and 3 rock from the sun
regretting: the peanut butter and tomato sauce sandwhich i had earlier
hoping: that Brett gets gome soon- i need someone to annoy
You?

Memory Lane
I have an interesting Uni assignment to do. I have to write a 2500 word memoir about reading and/or writing. It's funny, because i had never thought about why i read- but when you do, it's interesting. Often it stems back to childhood, and it's fun to go back and look at what you used to read. Me? I was obsessed with the Baby Sitters Club, and funnily enough, Mills and Boon.
So, i pose the question: Why do you read, and what were you obsessed with?

Excited
I am excited for today because:
1. I have new pens and highlighters to try out. As a proofreader these are my TOOLS.
2. Spring is here and it's supposed to be about 30 degrees today.
3. Following from previous point- i live ACROSS the road from the ocean!!
4. I am going to go browsing. Not shopping, but browsing.

The search continues...
So, i am still trying to decide what to wear to a couple of weddings i have coming up. It is waaaay to stressful! I did find a couple of contenders on the weekend, one a Charlie Brown silk maxi dress thingy, and Wish strapless dress.
I can't decide between the two, although the fact that the Charlie Brown is $400 and the Wish is under $200 seems to be a factor, but i have never bought a long dress before. You see, i am fairly short, and each time i try them on i know i will need to take them up, so i never bother with them......BUT this one is gorgeous on, and i like the change ( and it shouldn't cost too much to get it taken up). Also, while the wedding is formal, the reception will be right on the beach so it seems fitting.
On the other hand, i also like the Wish dress. A little more sexy, but nice.
I also think i will get plenty of use out of each dress.
Thoughts? I seriously think i might just buy them both to save me the misery, but then that seems a little irresponsible.
